Nala litter has arrived. Check out the puppy page for more info.
Happy valentines day from Double Gap Farm. Nala is still hanging on. Still happy, meaning not quite ready, but that can change any minute now. Stay posted.
Nala is still pregnant and growing. Spends much of the day biting at her belly, so won't be long now. Shelby has started showing too. I'd say she's 5 weeks out though. Just starting to round up.
Exciting times! After breeding in December, we are excited to see a few of the females showing well. Nala looks like she will be the first to go first or second week (guessing) of February. Bailey and Charlotte should be close behind. Stay tuned.
The weather outside is cold, but things have really started to heat up in the kennel. Both Sapphire and Charlotte have come into heat this week. With Bailey Breeding a month ago, she should start showing in earnest very soon. So while this cold Canadian air chills us to the bones, apparently the Entlebuchers think its just fine.
GREAT NEWS!!!!!Finally after a long pause. We have a heat. Bailey this morning is in full blown heat and started breeding. So 60 days, plus or minus a week, we should finally have puppies around the first of February. If all goes as it has in the past bailey will pull the other females into heat as well. Very exciting.
Well, not much new news on the Entlebucher side, but over the weekend we had a Jersey heifer born from our Daisey. They're not expected until the weather cools as well so its a start.
What I was saying about yesterday being hot. It was actually a record for the day here in this part of Georgia. Today was blistering again too, but while I was cleaning the outside runs (and sweating) I noticed that Shelby's sides were poking out slightly. Too early to confirm anything but its a good sign of things to come.
I'd say it was indian summer, as my parents used to, but that was always a warm up after fall set in. We have had no such break, tomorrow is expected to be 90 degrees again. Looks like summer, feels like summer, must be summer. Looking ahead a week from today the heat is supposed to break. Projected high 69. One can only dream. Over the weekend we did a deep clean of the kennels, bleach from top to bottom to dissenfect all surfaces. looks and smells clean.
Bark, bark, bark, bark...... You know when the weathers changing, cause everyones in a festive mood. Woke up this am to a cool 59 degrees. Todays high was only 78. Thats right only 78. Its been in the 80s or above since April, so thats a break that we all have been waiting for. The dogs were rather fiesty today as well as the rest of the animals on the farm. Now just got to get them to shut up so we can go to sleep.
